Let's observe the total lunar eclipse in March 2026

A global total lunar eclipse is expected to be visible on March 3, 2026.

A total lunar eclipse is an astronomical phenomenon that occurs when the sun, earth, and moon are in a straight line and the moon is hidden in the shadow of the earth. It is also called “Blood Moon” because of its reddish-bronze appearance.

In the United States, it is predicted to be observable  from midnight to early morning on March 3rd, in North America, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Hawaii.

【Recommendation Items for Lunar Eclipse Observation】

■Binoculars

Binoculars are perfect for those who want to observe the moon alone. Binoculars allow you to observe the Moon in detail, including craters on its surface. For observing the moon, we recommend binoculars with a magnification of 8x or more and an objective lens diameter of about 42mm.
